Act 7 Future, Gates of Horn and Ivory
Part 3

Four pages within 24h? This might be another record! But in all seriousness, my boss just sent me the date that I have to submit my paper, so now I have a proverbial fire lit under my butt. I really need to focus now, but I wanted to get these pages of FR out first so I won’t keep thinking about the doujinshi while I commit myself to writing for work. :p Trust me, it’s very hard to focus when your Muse is practically screaming “Go draw!!! GO!!!!” in your ears.

Regarding the “Gates of Horn and Ivory” referenced here, this is indeed a conundrum that classical scholars have been puzzling over for millennia (the Aeneid was written around 19 BC). Aeneas was thought to be the ancestors of the Romans, specifically the foundation of Rome itself. It is believed that Virgil wrote the Aeneid as a way to promote Roman history and the political establishment at the time, so it’s puzzling that he would suggest that the rule of Aeneas’ descendants was illegitimate, or false, in someway. One explanation for this paradox is that Virgil did not intend for his words to be taken literally, that he was writing the epic of Aeneas’ journey as an allegory. I’ve made my own interpretation of his words, though after some helpful discussion from my friend, :icontomoyoichijouji: ;)

It's not hard to imagine that Aeneas' descendants are 'false rulers', considering the other founding myth of Rome involving the twins Romulus and Remus.

Shou, gotta say, that's a dumb question. No person ever knows if any of their decision is the 'right' or 'true' one. You just decide at the point what you do - and if you later think it was wrong, you just remind yourself why you thought to decide that way at the time. And then live with whatever consequences any choice has made.

To his credit, Sailor Cosmos herself went through the same conflict, about the whole Galaxy Cauldron/Chaos situation, so if a grown-up woman with extensive experience in even extreme choices was in doubt about right or wrong choices, an amnesiac(in a sense) teenage boy's confusion is far more understandablebunneh icon17

Really cute (and not to mention very fast) update. :D

I'm very pleased that Mayumi was able to get Shou out of his little funk by giving him words of wisdom and realizing why he came back to Crystal Toyko! :nuu:

Let's hope her advice stays with him for much longer! :tighthug:

BTW; good luck on the final stretch of your work project! :floating:

Thank you! I'll still probably draw a bit in between writing to prevent sanity slipage but it helps that there aren't a lot of characters to draw per page, which speeds things up a lot. ^^;
