Dark Prince

A while ago two friends of mine, Haley and Amako-chan (as she's known here on da) inspired me with the idea to do a evil Fakir fanart. The idea is what if Fakir instead of Rue was the one kidnapped by the Raven? So in essence, this fanart is how I envision the "Prince of the Ravens" to look like (versus the "Princess of the Ravens" which is Kraehe in the anime).

I based the theme of this fanart around a famous "dark prince" found in literature: Hamlet. The costume is a mix between a Hamlet costume I remember seeing once and a ballet costume so Raven Fakir can fight/dance in it, and the sword is sort of a villainized version of Lohengrin's sword. The purple (not black!) color of Fakir's costume is representitive of royalty (i.e. Raven Prince) and it's also a shade of color found on raven feathers. The stained glass window in the background has the words "The Annunciation" and "The Nativity" written in German. Those are meant to be symbolic and represent hope and love, which in my mind, are qualities that evil Fakir would lack. And while I was sketching the drawing out I made up a little story for the ruined cathedral background, that perhaps the Raven and the Prince had fought there before and the giant crack on the left of the image was left by the Raven's claws.

This is only my second piece of CG work so there's a few boo-boos but I hope they're not very noticeable. In any case I hope you guys will like it.
